The existing t-stat housing and separate coolant filler cap were bugging me so I built a new housing with everything in it.

Few pics of the old setup.

And the new.

Ive been dealing with icing issues on the filter since the first ride. Initially I cut the bottom of the mesh filter off and had my girlfriends sew a new tight fitting pre-filter. While this helped over the previous loose MPI pre-filter, it was still icing up in the right snow conditions and driving me crazy. I made a plate out of .032 5052 tonight to cap the back so no hot air or snow coming up through the tunnel can hit the pre-filter. Hopefully this fixes the problem for good.

Took a couple practice pieces to get the final product.

How pleased with the build are you? How does it ride, fly and carve?

I'm really happy, it feels incredible light riding it. I didn't jump much with the BDX skid but now that I have the stock parts back in and I'll try and get some airtime. I need to do a bunch of durability testing before the season is over.

Had the opportunity to ride with Caleb at Whittier on Friday an it was very impressive watching it just pull away on every hill (I've got a stock 2013 assault) half way through the ride he offered me to ride his sled... I'm no one to use other people's stuff alot, but he insisted i take it for a few pulls an all I can say is WOW! This sled makes me want a turbo nytro it's so powerful at half throttle. Thanks calab for making me look for more power on my sled for the rest of the day.
