Default Looking to mix it up

Hey. Group of friends that have been riding the West Yellowstone area are looking to ride in Colorado. Where would you guys recommend? Also looking to hook up with some locals for a few days if you're able. Nice to put names and faces together. Still in the early stages of this trip, so we're open to all areas.
We will have one newbie, I've been west twice, rest go out every year at least once. All but two have beacons, so I will be looking for those.

Thanks in advance.

I'd say Steamboat Lake area. Rode out of SLO before, though their site doesn't show anything for winter...

We hit Steamboat Lake at least once a year, it is out of the way for the front range (Denver) day trip crowds which is nice. Also check out Grand Mesa and the Flat tops.

You could plan a trip to hit a few different areas, stay in Kremmling Steamboat, Walden and you could hit Rabbit Ears, Buff pass, steamboat lake, and maybe even the Snowys.

Thanks guys. I will forward the info to the trip planners and get more info on the areas. I am guessing some of the outfitters there have rental equipment.

Sounds like the crew is headed to Grand Lake area. I'll be in Mexico for part of the trip. I am hopping to do a road trip with the truck and sled. Would a 137 Backcountry 800 with a 1.75" track work for that area?

Ride the week of the 15th of Feb.

Waiting for your reply. I'd be there for a couple days if this works out.

If for some reason you are there for a powder event it would be pretty easy to rent a sled for a day or two in GL.

Too bad the decision wasn't Grand Mesa, I would have had you come down to the best snow in the state...

This was my ride a couple of days ago.
