BCA is a decent set up, user friendly but...
It is limited to terrain/line of sight as found out this weekend !?

They're pretty much *all* going to be limited to line-of-sight.

Even my big scary commercial radio is still LoS.

Expensive equipment doesn't change laws of physics.

Easy to use so anyone can use it is key. If it's too complicated, most will leave it in the trailer. Found that out with one of my riding partners. Keep it simple for the non technical people.

Honestly, my #1 complaint about the BC-Link radio is its price. You just don't get a lot of radio for the money you spend on it.
Medium-ish power output, you do get weather channels on it which is nice, but that's about it. The speaker-mic is its biggest feature, but you can get that (minus the presets) on just about any radio.

Which leads me to my 2nd complaint about it, is that you can't use the radio as a radio without the speaker-mic attached. If they put a speaker/mic/PTT on the radio body and made it so that you could use the radio as a regular radio and leave the mic in a pack, that'd make the cost a bit more justifiable.

Otherwise the feature list of that radio is really lacking for a $150-ish piece of equipment.
