Default Goliath the 950 Powder Pagan

I've been slowly fabricating a large snowbike and I'm about ready to go test it on the snow. It's got a KTM LC8 950 engine, 174" x 3" track with Timbersled snowmobile rear suspension, Timbersled 11.5" ski and spindle, Rekluse auto-clutch, left hand "grip shift" gear shifting and some other neat features.

950's a big engine in a bike .... should do okay with a 174 though.

Overkill much?

Just out of curiosity .... What do you expect it to weigh?

Had the first successful test today to confirm I'm on the right track for what I'm trying to do.

Goliath is not light, no less than 450lbs at this point. Shaving weight will be the biggest upgrade next summer. Hard to lighten it up a whole lot though with the 950 Supermoto coming in at somewhere around 400lbs to start with.

A couple of friends of mine here in Sweden has made both a KTM 950 with a Tedesled copy track kit on it. Low paddles on it but hell it was a beast to manouver. Another one built on a V-twin from a Suzuki 1000 I think. We called it the MountainGoat and that one had a 163" track and really never stopped climbing. Looked like hell with a tube frame and lots of tryout solutions with tape etc. But it outclimbed almost anything straight up in the trees.

Mostly because the rider is crazy and since the finish was none so he could really go for it.

Looking forward to hear your .02 on your build!
