Default Armor

So I had a pretty good crash this weekend, smoked a log that was under 24" of powder. Ended up relatively unhurt. But it got me thinking, I have a tek vest that hangs in my trailer because I find it uncomfortable. Started looking at "soft armor" that is molded into base layers, I realize it might not be the best protection but if i wear it its better than nothing. I was curious what you guys were wearing?

I had a bad crash 25 miles in backcountry last spring April 2 2018 and I think that My BCA soft armour saved my life as i still separated cartalidge on chest and pulled 2 ribs on the spine. I was able to ride out and back to parking lot with a lot of pain but I think without the BCA vest it would have been at least a $30 thousand copter ride out if not death. As it was , that layed me up for 4 weeks.

BCA MtnPro float vest for me. Tekvest when I'm not riding the mountains or on my sport quad.

Anything is better than nothing, but I'd try my damnedest to wear the tekvest. I guarantee mine saved me a trip to the hospital at least once. On one occasion I hit a hard drift and put my chest into the handlebars. I hit hard enough to knock the wind out of me. I vividly remember gasping for air. I'm confident I would have had broken ribs unprotected.

Sent from a mobile telephonic contraption.

A mountain lion roaming the prairie found a bull, killed it, and ate the entire bull. With a heavy belly, unable to walk, the lion laid in the tall grass moaning and roaring. Soon a hunter, attracted by the roaring, shot and killed the lion. Moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut!
