I just installed the Avalanche Beacon Training Park up Fairview canyon this weekend. It's all ready for the season, so if you ride Fairview, PLEASE USE THE PARK. It only takes a couple of minutes to flip a switch on the box and search for a buried beacon. We buried 8 beacons for this park, so you can practice several times and have a new location each time, or you can flip a couple switches and practice your multiple-burial searching skills. There is a garbage can lid above each beacon, so once you have honed in with your beacon you can use your probe to hit the garbage can lid so you know you've found it. Please do NOT dig up the beacons.
This park is a great way to practice. In the time it takes your sled to warm up in the parking lot, you can get a couple of practices in with your beacon. A beacon has no value unless you know how to use it.
