Default Kids, gotta Love-em

This is a pic of the car my son was ridding in. '93 Ford Festiva. He was a passenger. Yes the car is painted like the General Lee.

Injuries: Broken wrist (3 bones), broken blood vessels in left eye, bruised ribs, knees, neck and face.

Doc seems to think it will. Sad thing is, that's his good eye. He's 20/15 in one eye and 20/600 in the other. So far I have gotten the statements (bills) for the Ambulance ($2385) and the initial E.R. visit ($3956).

Three casts so far and then we'll have hand therapy. Senior class pics are in a few weeks too (nice!!). He's able to walk and talk, we're thankful for that. The rest will heal in time. As for the car, she's a goner.

Hopefully my kid is done with that stuff. 5 ambulance rides and a life flight before he was 21. Including 4 nights in ICU at Harborview in Seattle. UHG!

$2,385 ambulance, cheap compared to my North Air Care chopper ride from Brainerd hosp. ER to St.Cloud hospital heart center, 15 minutes, $11,000. !!!!
and I still had to pay $850 out of pocket after insurance. Hospital bill list price was $190,000.

Dang, at least you know a baseline, of how much your worth.

I did that to my eye, just sneezing. I bet it will be just fine.

That's why kids should have cars like 78' olds toronado's and such.

Yeah, I had eye problems after the 3-heart attacks the same week. Lucky I have recovered to previous sight,

But wait ! there's more!
March 2011, Mitral heart valve replacement and 2-bypasses, 16 days in the Mayo Clinic Hospital, where X-rated works, $230,000.
Then for 4 months afterward I was on a drug that cost me, after insurance, $800.00/month.

But he!!, I'm worth it to post on BCR.

We are taking him to get a new cast every 5-7 days. He has an issue with hand sweat, and the cast gets a little funky and swampy smelling. The dog loves it. 6 to 8 weeks of casts then he'll have to do hand exercises. He wants to take my sled on a ride this season ('14 Backcountry X)
