Default Where do you ride off trail in MN......

Hey guys. I live and mostly ride in MN and my passion is off trail riding. I live in Hermantown, MN and have loads of in laws up the North near Finland, MN.

Around home, I mostly ride frozen swamps, tree areas, and fields north of Island lake area.

My fave MN riding is up in the Finland area -- lots of swamps, slashings, fire roads, powerlines and other good places to find. But obviously the key is good and deep snow. I love going out to the UP also. I've been out west a few times and looking to go more often.

Where do you fellas ride?

I ride mostly around the Marcell area. Also Togo / Bear River. Same story here. Forestry roads, power lines, lakes, rivers.

Swamps, lakes, rivers and any two track I can find around McGregor. It is surprising how easy it is to find snow that isn't tracked up, just hit the areas that don't lead to bars and it is pretty much untouched.

I'd love to venture your way if the snow ever shows up.

Who needs snow. Ice is nice grass racing is better. Never need to worry about frost bite in the summer.

As for offtrail rides, we do the north shore (North of Grand Marais) and the Bayfield WI fire lanes. Found LOTS of fire lanes that never get hit. Winter of '10 and '11 we found 4' of untracked areas to play in.

I prefere to ride the deep stuff in Id, Mt and Wy.
