Hi Pat!! Good to see you're still a hardcore Hawk addict.
I'm sending the original one to the guy in Norway and need the others for myself - sorry buddy. If there were requests for like 5, Steve Samps would probably make a batch. |

Leave your foot pegs where they are, just move your bars up and forward a little.

After riding the snowhawk in the powder im not going to lower the foot pegs at all. They are low as they are.
I was inspecting my COG belt today and I did not like what I saw. Looks like its eating itself up. Check the pics on the upper belt drive. The belt is all over to the edge of the drive and its damaged. The belt is "riding" on the lip and thats why it gets torn down. Why is this and how can i adjust so the belt lays in the middle of the upper belt drive? Check the pics.

It is Hard to see on the phone , out riding , not sure why that's doing that . The retaining rings on the sprockets shouldn't do that unless the is a bur in one ? That Carlisle is also a short lived expensive belt . I'm running a Gates but it's the 600 gearing on an 800 . Much shorter belt besides gearing difference . Excellent belt outlasts the Carlisle so far I would of gone threw 6 and the cogs are still in excellent condition . The outside is starting to show weather checking . If your going to stay with the belt see if you can cross reference it to a Gates , played with a few chain drives and much prefer the benefits of a belt and slipper clutch , personal preference .
Got to look at it on a bigger screen , from what I can tell is that the belt looks like it might just be getting to that point of being warn out . The cogs look like they are not as uniform as a new belt would look . Meaning she's getting weak and you might be getting to the point where the cogs will eventually peel off in chunks . Still I'm just guessing from what I can see and might be totally off base . If possible try to cross reference that belt to a gates . It is a far superior belt . This one won't work on yours since it's shorter but it will give you an idea . If I remember correctly you use the same numbers on the Carlisle but you add an E to it .
