Cool Another "they don't write 'em like this anymore:

XM ch5 while on the road to the Metro over the Holidays.
First, go here for my tutorial on early 60's guitar special effects. Scroll down to Fender tape-loop-echo/reverb machine.
http://backcountryrebels.com/showthr...ghlight=Fender

Now: " Buzz Buzz, a Diddle-it" by Ferddy "boom-Boom" Cannon
Some pretty good Rock-a-Billy, Fender echo can be heard from very beginning and throughout.
A great "Bo-Diddly" knock off.

Old school tape echos are cool. Sound on sound Tape loops can be lots of fun to mess with. Prehistoric sampler on 1/4 inch tape. Predigital age audio gear is getting popular again.

Yup! 10-4 0n that.
Back when pop music was REAL music, not some pubescent teen wailing to a computer synthesizer.

Classic Fender tape echo/reverb, Everly Brothers big hit, Dream. 1958.
My Spoh. HS year https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxWZT0PXkGg

Crap!! I missed meeting these preacher kids , same age as me, by a mere 5-minutes. Sousa Phone player in our MPLS Southwest HS band older brother , was a rock concert promoter.
[Me? Saxophone.]
By time we got out of school at 3:00 pm and negotiated from 47th street to 63rd St. South Minneapolis., they had already left. From what I heard from Jerry and his bro.the promoter the Everly Brothers were the nicest guys.
Yes they were actually brothers.
They had spent so much time together for years, they had a falling out, and didn't speak to each other for over 10 years.
They had a reunion when their parents died, some years after their popularity height.

In my 20's I was a sound engineer (long haired, very loud, never enough pa, etc). The old school stuff still is cutting edge in many world class studios, anything Rupert Neve built in thee 50s is worth more than gold. Sounds way better too. Retrofitting 50's Neve consoles with new digital automation is still the world standard in recording consoles, tubes and all. 1 eq strip from the right series of Neve consoles is worth over 10K! Studer 2" x 24 track tape, Neve consoles, tube compression, Urei fills and NS-10's. World class studio if you have that gear. I love the old real high end stuff, tons of great British sound equipment from the 60's as well. I know where the EQ's from Abbey road are, (in my old road case). Court Acoustics phase corrected 31 band stereos. Designed by Allen Parsons and a few wild audio techs.

Great old studio equip names. I worked around a Neve console in 1989 while on a summer time learning internship with "Studio-M" at MN Public (liberal ) Radio.
24 stereo channel, not sure.

Dick Dale... forgot about that one.
1963 was my Jr. year in College.
