Default New dirt scooter

Take your stock filter cage and use memory wire to make a frame. Only run supplied prefilter. Cut out bottom of air box so snow can fall out. I will see if I can get some pics.

The kit actually comes with a prefilter? I haven't even taken mine out of the crate yet...

Good info. You find that the prefilter will get covered and sucked in without the wire? Fender washer on the top? The 500 has a hole in the airbox already. Probably 1.5 X 3. Thinking that'll do.

I've got a 500 exc. the memory wire is springy and keeps the shape to prevent snow accumulation and help it bounce around and the snow falls off. I have a winter air box that I swap out. Cut the hole in the bottom of the box as big as you can. I also mount a plastic shield where shock guard was to keep snow off back of engine. I also run a e line skid plate with closed cell foam between engine to help keep oil and engine temps up. Plastic shrouding around engine is also recommended. T stat also. Either avid products or thermo bob.

I've got a few rips, stellar so far. Haven't had a lick of trouble. One day the airbox was packed with snow when I got home, ran great. Running a dry filter with the pre over the top. Warm/set up to 15 and dry pow.
