Default WTB M1000 parts

I have had enough frustration with my 1200. I need stock cylinders, pistons, head and single pipe/can for my 2009 M1000. I have D and D twin pipes, 1200 jugs and pistons, Bikeman cylinder head to sell. Let me know if you have any of this in your pile.....

Hey thanks. I talked to D and D yesterday and they tell me that I am supposed to have between .009 and .011 piston clearance. I measured mine and came up with .010 but the boxes for the new pistons said .006 so I figured that these jugs were done for.....I am going to look carefully about putting this back together with new pistons in the 1200 and letting someone with more patience than me live with it....If I decide to go back to 1000 (I like what was done with the chassis, nice and light), what do you want for the parts?

Had a D & D mod F 1000 for use in grass drags in our pit. Sled would eat pistons like Candy every race. Glenn Hall built the beast. Never more happy than when the mod left the trailer. Think they went too far with the porting and wall thickness.

Sorry was away from computer for quite a while. I put in the new $$$ D and D pistons. I talked to BMP and D n D about clearance.....quite a bit of difference between the two! One guy I know who was running the D and D 1200 with a turbo gave up and went back to stock pistons. D and D seems to really want them loose.....hope it works.
I hope the thing will stay together....won't find out until next year I guess. I am not going to take a chance on overheating and smearing another set of pistons on all the ice between trailer and snow.
I am going to have to order a billet starter handle. The compression is so high it pulls the cord knot (I'm running Armorcord) right through the plastic handle. I've got a 3/8" nut tied into the end of cord for now. I have to say I am concerned the starter pulley won't last long either. If it doesn't start after a couple or three pulls, better get a volunteer to help. Won't be spending the night out of trailer in West....warm is my only chance to get it started. Maybe an electric start 4 stroke next year....

i did quite a bit of research on this between 8 and 9 thous clearance is whats required and hundreds of miles of carefull break in seems to be required. if done right it sounds like fun power . what compression are you running? and is it turboed? also we have a rkt head for that 1200 if you get interested/\.

I never did put a compression gauge on this thing. I do know that with new pistons, I only have about 3 pulls at the rope before taking a break(i'm 6'1"@250lbs).....the thing is brutal. One of my friends was mouthing off about my wimpiness...told him he could have it if he started it....still sitting in my shop. I broke the stock rope...replaced it with a Armorcord but that pulled through the handle. Tied a 3/8" nut on the end of the cord to keep it from coming out. D and D told me the same thing about loose and slow break in....ran out of snow so it is sitting in the shop right now. I have a Bikeman head on it now. No turbo, all motor. Never been on a dyno but claims of 230 HP for whatever thats worth....
