Default Free Class Laramie Wyoming

Snowmobilers, Fellow Backcountry Users and Winter Enthusiasts,
The Snowy Range Snowmobile Club would like to invite you to participate in a FREE Avalanche Awareness Clinic taught by the professionals from the Bridger Teton Avalanche Center in Jackson, Wyoming.
The Club is offering two sets of classroom and field sessions that are open to ALL interested winter enthusiasts. This program is designed to give winter backcountry travelers information on identifying avalanche terrain, travel techniques, snow pack conditions and safety factors. The field sessions will look first hand at snowpack observation, terrain factors, beacon use, probing and shovel techniques.
Classroom sessions are Friday, February 21 and Saturday February 22 at 6pm at the Laramie Holiday Inn, 204 S 30th St. Classroom sessions are open to all and no registration is needed. Come and learn from folks who do this for a living.
Field Sessions will be held Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23 at 8am somewhere in the Snowy Range. Sign up in advance is required as space is limited. You must attend a classroom session to participate. We encourage participants to bring transceiver, probe and shovel if they have them. We will break into snowmobile and ski/snowshoe groups each day. Field session participants will meet with instructors after the classroom sessions for an orientation.
For more information or to sign up please email srscwy@gmail.com or visit http://www.srscwy.com/AvyClassFEB2014ST.htm
A flyer for the event is attached.
This Bridger Teton Avalanche Center clinic is being hosted by the Snowy Range Snowmobile Club with support from the United States Forest Service, Medicine Bow National Forest and the Wyoming State Trails Program. It is funded through a Recreational Trails Program (RTP) Diversified Grant.
Please feel free to share this through email, social media and print.
Thanks,
Snowy Range Snowmobile Club
