You can get CityNavigator on teh 530's too; they use the same mapsets the 60/76's can.
For street/dirt moto use, CityNav is great. There's a *lot* of dirt/OHV trails on the mapset.

So the replacemnet Rino went down with the same problem. Anyone else having issues with the 655t?

Charged the battery before we left last week. wen to use it friday morning and it was dead. now when I charge it, the Rino gets really hot. Using the wall charger to charge the unit, same charger as the last unit.

Also is held in a Ram mount while on the sled.

I use the 530hcx, it's been bullet proof for 2 yrs now. But, I don't use it much, mostly for hunting coms to keep track of everyone in our group.

I have not heard of many other issues - but I don't frequent any GPS forums unless I have a specific issue/questions either.

Did they replace your wall charger too? Maybe that is the issue - it is pumping too much juice into the unit? I don't know if the charge controller is in the unit or in the wall unit on these.

Just thinking out loud....

Thought of that as well, I checked the output and it is 9.35v. I am now working with about the eighth person at Garmin on the issue!

Kind of sucks, my 530 has been fail proof for years! This one has some cool features, but dies every 3 use!

Had my 62s replaced last month as it was showing the same issues as yours... hmm

Used on last trip in better conditions than when it went down (snow/mist freeze all day) and it lasted and worked fine. Odd tho, maybe its the same part in both of them failing? When I called in for warranty they didn't seem to suprised or ask any questions of it just an oh that ya here's the info to send it sorta deal. Bad batch of parts?

That's interesting... they are telling me it is not a known issue!

I am a long time user of Garmin Rhinos. I have now owned 4 of them.

I purchased a 655 last year and have a lot of trouble with it. I carry it on my bikes in a RAM mount and the way it is held the vibration lets the battery wear and vibrate in the radio to the point the battery connection separate and it powers off. I had it warrantied and it is doing the same thing again. I have to stuff a rag behind the battery in the mount to keep it connected when I ride.

I like my old 520's better. they lasted almost 5 years before failure.
