Cool Grass drags & swap, and much more. Sept.16

Brainerd,MN grass drags and swap on the 16th. Free test & tune runs Friday eve 15th on the same track.
Located at Crow Wing County Fair grounds.

Racers eye-view tuning runs video (watch it all)

Drone video during lunch break, too windy for much drone 'footage' but you get the idea.

Located at Crow Wing County Fair Grounds, easy to find just off "business hwy 371" South East corner of Brainerd.

Best grass track in MN, including Haydays........ not impressed there.

Oodles of free vehicle parking,

Camp sites with electric hookups, Very reasonable cost. First-come-first-served electric RV sites.

Indoor toilet facilities w/shower. Porta-potties elsewhere

We have a $10K dollar 2,000 frames/sec professional finish line camera. (ie NASCAR, INDY,fuel dragsters/funny cars)

About 100 racers. signed up usually. Finish line timing to 0.002 Seconds. No such thing as a 'tie' race.

Prizes are bottles of champagne , shop supplies, even tools. Plus trophies , and our 'warmest personal regards.' .
Hence the name of the race, the "Champagne Classic. "

We have about 850 spectators, $5.00 admis'n. Kids 12/under free.

Swappers between 80-90.

Vendors, about 40. Sled clothes, helmets , accessories, performance parts, sled & ATV dealers.
MNUSA and clubs.

Vintage sled display.

Food court WITH BEER!!
Best PA system coverage designed by WIZ.

How long is the shut down lane? We're running a sled that hits 140 mph in 500 feet.

Timed course is 500 ft.
UPDATEShutdown is a bit OVER 700 ft. I just checked with our track guru.
Found out tonite at a planning meeting, somebody wants to run an 1100 Turbo 4-stroke.
Maybe the same guy 2 yrs ago grenade'd both clutches at way over 100mph, brakes failing , and managed to use the whole run-out.
Pieces of hood, belt, and clutches on the track.

Ours is a lake racer class. Runs the 500 feet in under 4 seconds. Hits 60 feet in 1.016 seconds. Shut down is a tad short for ours.

UPDATE: Its 700 ft. Correction.
Not fenced at the end like Haydays. Ours transitions from mowed grass to tall bog weeds.

See my next post.

I'll be there under the canopy shelter by the start line, adjacent to the pits.
I will be baby sitting the PA system equipment there.
