Default Recoil

It appears that the casting that the bolt for holding the recoil to the housing gave out . I've changed the rope once cleaned and lubed and did not use an impact or even some sort of thread lock , hand tight since they don't have a torque spec on it . I replace what's warn and keep the machines clean .
The only thing I can think of is that it's from pulling it over in the cold weather and when it does fire it's hard not to reach the end of the recoil because for a guy that has long arms the 6' rope is to short even though I know it's really bad for the rope to hit the end of the recoil . This engine just does not like to turn over in the sub zero weather .
I can't think of any other reason why that casting would of let loose but this time since the thread does go all the way threw I'm gonna put a nyloc on the outside of the cover .
Guess some of these machines were just never intended to be around for more than just a couple of years , heck it wouldn't of made it the first year if it was actually my ride . They sure don't make them like they use to and it's a good reminder to not purchase this brand again no matter how nice they are .
The old triple pulls like a freight train , she was a snow check also .
I posted this for someone that is in it for the long run on these 800s' that hate the cold weather .

By the way this gave out luckily at a low speed otherwise the case might have taken a hit and the price of one of those would of exceeded the value of what I would call still a modern machine . The last picture is the original engine that is now a long rod .
