I swapped voltage regulators with my friend's from his 600. The numbers were a little different, but it looked the same. With his regulator, my sled fired right up and idled fine with a nice bright display. My regulator killed his display, and it would only idle for five seconds or so, the same thing my sled has done since it got to the trailer yesterday. I'm ordering an SPI regulator. I hope they aren't junk.

Do you think impact from blowing two belts could have knocked out the voltage regulator?

Blowing a belt hitting the shroud normally has nothing to do with it , probably another poo excuse . Never try a bad electrical part in another machine , don't even keep it as a spare .

As far as the numbers go they can change several times in one season . They are still updating even though the sled is no longer current and will never admit to a problem but they will keep improving .

You said one of the symptoms was that it was idling high correct ? That's because the VR was overloading/spiking tripping relays throwing battery light etc .

When I said it will take out other components I'm talking about the ECU which isn't to expensive but the computer is a different story and surprisingly ebay has lots of used ones , wonder why that is

Just trying to warn guys that don't know .
