Default RMZ 450 LIGHTS

Anyone add lights to a Suzuki RMZ 450? It's a 2012 with low hrs and used as a Motard super currently. Guy tied the lights into the fuel injection system. Seems sketchy. Kid is looking at buying it.

Good info here...Solid bikes.

Edit...just saw this is a 12. I'd think it wouldn't be that much different. Is he looking to run it on the street or just wants a light?

Did the search on thumper talk. Is tying the light system to the EFI normal? No battery on this beast.

As long as the stator has the power, I doubt it will present an issue. My handwarmers are wired into my headlight and it made no difference in the brightness. Granted, it's a battery bike. It was probably done that way because the EFI is the only lead. Normal? I can't answer that but can tell you that a light on an otherwise stock RMZ is not "normal". Most guys that add lighting to non-battery bikes go with an Enduro Engineering or other aftermarket lighting kit that includes an upgraded stator with additional leads.

It is normal to wire lights to efi plug. That is how cyclops sets up a lot of snowbikes. Cyclops could probably tell you the stator output. http://www.cyclopsadventuresports.com
