Default Northern CO suggestion for 3/6 - 3/7 - guests in from out of town need suggestions

Hey Guys,

I was turned onto this site by a fellow rider, glad to have found it!

I live in Northern Colorado and have some guests coming in from out of town this weekend.

I'm wondering where a good location to go is for this upcoming weekend for decently priced rentals, a good place to stay, and where I can get them into some powder

The guy who reccomended this site to me suggested Steamboat Lake Outfitters, but some local friends suggested Snowy Range as I they have some good snow right now?

Where can I take my guests to go have some fun this weekend? They've ridden before so we'd like to find some fun terrain/powder to go rip.

Thanks for your input in advanced!

NorcoJosh

For simplicity and good snow I too would suggest the Snowies. Its closest, has good snow and your company can rent from Maverick Mtrsprts or Cody up by the Snowy Mtn Lodge.

Rode last Saturday and had a great ride with lots of fluff.

Hey Qreiff,

The lodge is closed according to their site, whats an alternative option? I read that some prefer the riding in the northern section of the snowies?

What about the steamboat area, do they have good snow this time of year? Your my only reply so I'm relying on your input as I've never ridden up north except Montana and Jackson.

First off, yes the lodge is closed but there are many lodging options just down the road (4 miles) in the wonderful little town of Centennial Wyoming. Lodging, great bars, gas, food..........the works. Cody has a rental place just next to the now "out of business for the time being" Snowy Lodge. There are a couple real nice lodging options also. PM me for more details.

Steamboat as another option is fantastic! You can stay either in Steamboat or down the road in Kremmeling which is more affordable. You can ride Rabbit Ears Pass or Buffalo Pass out of Steamboat. Crazy good riding and snow.

North Park Inn in Walden is also another great alternative. Dave (owner) is a snowmobiler and can steer you kin the right direction. Grizzly Creek/Buff Pass parking area is about 1/2 hour away and Rabbit Ears is about 1 hour.

I don't mind the drive, where is the spot to be this weekend? This is for my birthday so I'm on the hunt for good snow, good food, and a clean nice place to stay. I would like to rent the guests a couple of performance machines vs. just a trail sled.

HELP!

5 Star rentals in Granby rents Summit XP 800s and Arctic Cat M8s. They share the same building with Powerworld. Call them before Saturday though. They will deliver to Rabbit Ears, so I hear. You can stay at the Allington Inn in Kremmling (It's the nicest) or the Cliffside ( 2nd nicest). The snow is decent. Conditions are spring conditions, so don't expect anything more unless a surprise storm rolls through.

That is the answer I think you are looking for. Hope that helps
