Well, the fishing part of my trip was a bust so don't feel too bad Grizzz. All that nice weather the end of March started the melt and the river was rising every day with only about a foot of visibility. Needless to say that is not very good water conditions for steelhead fishing, let alone trying with flies. I found myself wishing I had brought my sled instead of my boat and spent a lot of time on the river staring at all those beautiful mountains. 16 hour drive one way, terrible river conditions, zero steelhead... I am definitely going back next year.:D

I will look at my scenery pics and see if I got anything decent with my little camera.

Yes the river here is in full freshet right now as well. Chocolate milkshake full of stumps and trees. We have decent steel fishing here from feb.-apr. most years. We're only an hour from the 49th to the fish. Come stay in southern BC and give it a go. Typed while eating fresh smoked steel!:D

"Typed while eating fresh smoked steel!:D"

Now you're just rubbing it in! :D

Fishing the lower mainland is definitely on the list. I have read a little about the Squamish and Capilano and will make a trip up to fish them some time. I could probably do them on a long weekend trip. If I do head north to Terrace again next April like I plan to I am definitely taking the saltwater gear with me. My little jet boat isn't going to get me out off the coast but I should be able to find some protected water for lings and rockcod around Prince Rupert or Kitimat. Between fishing and sledding there are so many places in BC to explore I will probably spend the rest of my life doing it. ;)

Yo, Crash. Hit me up when ya come this way. I'd happily show ya a few "local hotspots". The Chehalis, Vedder, Birkenhead, Lilloet, Pitt, all are great producing rivers depending on targetted species. Hit me up

Terrace in August is prolific for huge northern coho (20lbers) getting them on fly gear in kelp beds is the bomb. Kings up there get into the 70lb range as well. Lots of great fishing on the west coast of vancouver island as well. Heck tuna fishing in early sept. may be the craziest thing I've done fishing. If you're into dino's we have a very prolific sturgeon c&r fishery here, 10' + is common. Hit me up before you come & I'll point out the local hotspots or I'll have no lime in my beers if we hit it with your/my boats!

Grizzz, I will definitely look you up when I make the trip. Oh man, now I need more Vacation!

I went tuna fishing for the first time a couple years ago, yep, those suckers are nuts! The live bait stops were the craziest thing I have ever seen on the water.

Our lil dino hole has produced 85 in the last 2 months we don't count under 3'ers. Even had a Conservation officer visit Monday, he said pull your line in so i can see ur hook, I said here you pull on my 12' rod with a 6' dino on it! He said I thought you were snagged, newby!
